Mickie James announced for Raw Legends Night

During the December 21, 2020 episode of WWE Raw, it was announced that Mickie James would be making her return to the Monday night staple for the start of 2021.

The first episode of the sports entertainment flagship show for the new year will feature James and several luminary names. Dubbed Legends Night, the evening will include the likes of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Big Show.

"It's going to feel good to be back out for a Monday night of action," says James. "I've been at home, recovering from an ACL injury, a pandemic, with a mini comeback only to be sidelined with a broken nose week in. It’s been an interesting year to say the least. But I have no doubt that 2021 is going to be incredible and what better way to kick it off in style.”

James has not appeared on WWE TV since losing to Zelina in the #1 contenders match earlier this year. That only following the controversial Raw Women’s Championship Match against Asuka earlier this year. At the time she was on quite the roll, even with the odds seemingly stacked against her, stringing together a strong number of wins. Now, she gets ready to appear on this special night.

"Honestly I hadn’t even considered the label “Legend” for myself. I feel like that’s a whole different level of respect that I have for people that I consider Legends. I’m grateful to be a part of the WWE family and I’m excited for Legends night. Call me legend, call me Superstar, call me whatever you want," James comments. “Just know that I am far from done making history, and ready to get back to all the things that I do best - gettin' the W's."

One of James' dearest friends, Alicia Fox, has also been announced for the special edition of Raw, something that means a lot to the six-time Women's Champion.

"Foxy is my soul sister and, hands down, best friend in the biz,” James remarks. “We have seen each other on a personal level since my injury. Obviously we haven’t seen each on the stage, in the locker room, or in the ring in so long. I’ve missed her dearly and can wait to see her face. We teamed at Evolution and afterward; so it will be amazing to share the stage with her again and have a true catch up in the locker room.”

Other female competitors announced for the show include Jacqueline, Torrie Wilson, Ivory and Beth Phoenix. The chance to see these women all together once again is special for James. It’s like the old locker room back together again!

"Leave aside Covid-19. Our lives are so busy outside the ring that to have a reunion like this is so rare," James says. "These are women I battled with, hold in such high regard and truly call friends. It will be amazing to catch up with all the girls."

Stay tuned for more on Raw Legends Night.
